This hand thrown deco style illustrated pottery vase, decorated with sheep, trees and red roofed buildings, is called “The Wayside Inn". It is by Frank Beardmore & Co. The firm was founded in 1901 at the Sutherland Pottery in Fenton. The company was wound up in 1913. Sutherland art pottery has since become highly collectable. The scene carries right round the vase.
The vase is in good condition with a few minor nibbles to the rim and a few areas of very small colour glaze loss, There are no chips, cracks or repairs.
