This squat lidded raku vessel reminds us of a bowler hatted gentleman. Decorated in matt white and black with gloss accents in the form of swirled shoulder and brim.

Mick Morgan has been producing raku pottery in his West Wales pottery since 1975. His work is collected  internationally and he exhibits at select galleries across the UK. Using only natural materials he makes his own clay and glazes

Raku is a Japanese ceramic technique dating back to the 16th Century. The pottery is removed from the kiln when red hot and placed amongst combustible materials which leave the characteristic marks upon the surface.
