Antique, narrow loom Welsh blanket, grey with cream and gentian stripes

Antique (pre 1900), narrow loom, Welsh wool blanket. This is 'gritty', hard-wearing wool with no thinning, generally very good quality for age despite some small holes (easily darned if you wish). Initials RT cross stitched in one corner. Sourced from the family of the original owner in Carmarthenshire. Hand stitched central seam, machine stitched edges. Narrow loom blankets are sought after textiles, becoming more scace over time. A lovely heritage piece.
